Locus game cover

Here is a cover I did late last year for a small start-up roleplaying game company.
Since there was no other existing art for this game, I first designed the characters and then made the cover after. I thought this might be a good way to have a cast of characters that looked unique and thus from a specific game world. I was afraid of designing the characters at the same time as making the cover art might result in generic looking fantasy tropes.

I'm Not sure this was the best idea, as the characters I made in concept form didn't necessarily translate clearly in non-straightforward poses. The next time I would probably just design the characters and art together, allowing for more flexibility and clarity. A good lesson in "less work is more"...
